Jean-Marie Massaud is a French designer and architect. In 1990, he graduated from the National School of Industrial Design “Les Ateliers” in Paris, and was taught by Marc Berthier. He has worked and dealt with all fields of design, from furnishings and individual products to industrial equipment. The designer has always stood out for his constant search for fusion, paired with refinement and his visionary attempt to shape the environment in which man lives, making it a great life experience.
In 2000, he founded Studio Massaud, expanding his experience in the architectural development sector. Among his projects is the ‘Volcano Chivas Stadium’, a low environmental impact stadium inaugurated in July 2010, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He has collaborated with B&B Italia, Axor Hansgrohe, Dior, Poltrona Frau, Lancôme, Alessi and Renault. He was a professor at the European Institute of Design in Turin and project leader/visiting professor at the masters in product and interaction design at the prestigious Domus Academy in Milan. In 2009, he was awarded the title of Designer of the Year at the Salon M&O Now. Highlights of his collaborations include those with Poliform, and the co-creation of the Ventura Lounge armchair. The chair is characterized by great comfort and elegance, thanks to its ergonomic backrest and highlighted stitching, which underscores its artisanal spirit.
