In Japan, the term “Saki” means blossoming, and Nendo pays homage to the blossoming of the buds with a family of seating elements defined by sinuous support panels for the backrest and armrests. Lacquered in various shades or upholstered in fabric or leather, they allow for multiple combinations, lending a refined and eclectic aesthetic to the furnishings.
Designed with a modular concept, Saki is available as a 2, 3, or 4 seater sofa with two different depths, as an armchair with or without armrests, as benches, and as original islands available in various configurations.
The system features large, curved seats, finished with piping that elegantly defines the profile. Oki Sato interprets the symbol of the bud “in the subtle incisions made on the upper part of the cushions at the corners, which create a well-balanced separation and cohesion, seamlessly transitioning from the backrest to the armrest.” A light, sinuous movement that translates into enveloping and protective comfort, further enhanced by the softness of the cushions with their contoured internal structure, the result of careful ergonomic design.
The square island version, whose surface is enhanced by stitching that intersects at the center, is particularly welcoming and can provide a spacious seat on which to recline or accommodate several people along its perimeter, in lounge, domestic, or hospitality spaces.
