The semicircular curve of the Vivienne armchair’s backrest gives rise to the eponymous seating system with a contemporary aesthetic, designed by the Italian-Danish design duo GamFratesi. The embrace of the backrest that envelops the seat also doubles as an armrest, lending the sofa a particularly decorative feel. This design features a finely contoured padded base, supported by recessed aluminum bars, which accommodates and partially conceals the thickness of the cushions, which, visually, appear thinner. This detail gives the upholstered piece a more delicate appearance, making it lightweight yet extremely comfortable. The designers describe this seating system as “a piece that plays with the harmony of forms. Its soft, generous curves, typical of the Vivienne Large armchair, evolve into a sofa system with new proportions: a perfect balance between sinuosity and geometric rigor, between the decorative and the essential, making it suitable for any modern space while maintaining an iconic and organic character.”
