The Trois Rois lamp was created for “The Council,” the intimate space designed by Herzog & de Meuron for the Les Trois Rois hotel in Basel. Its design stems from a unique environment, defined by the warmth of two opposing fireplaces and sophisticated tactile surfaces. This portable, rechargeable lamp combines complex technical solutions with profound mastery of textile craftsmanship. In addition to the playful textile version, a die-cast aluminum variant is available for more dynamic settings. The diffuser cleverly encloses the light source, electronics, and battery, emitting a soft, welcoming light. Every detail is functional and discreet. The charging port is hidden where the three legs meet. At the top, a refined brass element serves as a touch control for turning the lamp on and dimming it.
