Somewhere EL-S is Philippe Starck’s tribute to his thirty-year collaboration with Cassina.
The seating collection evokes the sartorial details typical of haute couture, expressed in the design of three poufs—two square and one rectangular, which can also be used as a daybed with or without a backrest—and an armchair, available in three different styles.
This creation evokes multiple ideas, its uniqueness reminiscent of a bag, a suitcase, or a gift wrapped in wrapping paper. A handcrafted closure inspired by the world of saddlery, embellished with metal elements, further enriches the models: a common thread throughout the furnishings, this detail is found on the front of the armchair, while on the poufs it is positioned on two sides. The upholstery is available in two material variants: a very thick-textured leather in three shades, a monochrome natural and black fabric, or an ethnic motif specially designed by Philippe Starck.
The seat and armrest padding is made using circular materials, such as differentiated-density polyurethane with a percentage of bio-sourced polyols, covered in recycled PET blown fiber. With no glued parts, the Somewhere EL-S collection is completely disassembled, facilitating recycling and material recovery at the end of the product’s life cycle.
