Designed by Studio MK27, whose founder Marcio Kogan has made the rigor of its lines a distinctive trait, Bézier experiments with and interprets a new and impactful compositional language, developed with irregular volumes and fluid lines that outline and embrace the space and its users. “The entire universe is made of curves,” says Kogan, quoting the master Oscar Niemeyer.
The curves of the Bézier system are emphasized by the extremely comfortable seat, characterized by a softness achieved thanks to the careful layering of high-density polyurethanes of varying thicknesses, allowing for uniform comfort across the entire surface. Given the organic shapes, the tailored stitching is extremely meticulous, perfectly following the sinuosity of the elements. Furthermore, a lumbar cushion placed along the entire backrest provides further relaxation, also serving as a decorative motif.
The Bézier system is a tribute to the fusion of mathematics and art, inspired by the legacy of Pierre Bézier, whose famous parametric curve, often used in computer graphics, celebrates the precision and fluidity of organic forms. This highly versatile seating system, with its large forms that expand to form islands, allows for new ways of experiencing the living space, not only in domestic settings but also in hospitality: an innovative approach to the sofa, transforming it from an object into a place for meeting and gathering.
